Bathing space in the bedroom

Bathing space in the bedroom

Imagine your own private temple of relaxation. What would such a space look like? What would be in it and above all: how would you like to spend your free time in it? Probably: how many people, so many answers to these questions. Many of us associate rest mainly with sleep, others associate a relaxing bath, a cup of aromatic infusion and plunging into the world presented in the pages of the book. The essence of a place ideal for relaxation may be ... a bathing space in the bedroom.

A bathroom located in a bedroom can be a response to expectations regarding the creation of a relaxing space at home. This is a place where you can gain not only the possibility of silence, but also maximum privacy resulting from the characteristic location of this room.

Bath in the bedroom. Private area

The decision to place a free-standing bathtub or shower in the bedroom is still not popular. Among the opponents of such a solution, there are voices about the disturbance of intimacy ascribed to both the bedroom and the bathroom. However, for those who prefer bathing in the bedroom space, it is obvious that the room remains available only to the owners of the bedroom, and not to guests or even other household members. The bathroom (or just a bathing space) in the bedroom cannot be the only one in the apartment. This type of solution can be afforded by people who have a large bedroom and thus a large apartment or house. The additional bathroom is then a kind of complement to the bedroom - it complements it, increasing its functional dimension and giving additional opportunities to spend time and relax. By definition, however, it is an option available only to bedroom owners, allowing them to use the bathing space at any time for practical and relaxing purposes.

A space open to new impressions

For people who are delighted with the idea of introducing a bathtub to the bedroom, but hesitate, if only because of the need for intimacy and bathing in solitude, we recommend separating the bathroom space with a curtain, glazing or simply a partition wall. Stylish sliding doors can also be a great solution - a lot depends here on the properties of the room itself, not only in terms of size, but also its layout - e.g. whether it has recesses.

It can also be very practical to differentiate the material with which we may finish the floor surface in both zones of the bedroom. Wooden panels, combined with tiles in the bathing part of this room, can look very attractive and at the same time effectively separate individual spaces within the premises.

Yet another, stylish and practical way to distinguish the sleeping area from the bath area, in the space of one room, is to place a free-standing bathtub on a platform. Introducing differences in levels is very effective also when the bathtub is built-in or embedded in the floor. It is also worth remembering that a free-standing bathtub, although it looks beautiful and elegant, is not the only option for introducing a bathing space into the bedroom. A walk in shower with a modern and minimalist form, which fulfills not only a practical but also a designer function in a bedroom, does just as well.

Bathtub or shower in the bedroom. What should be considered?

When deciding to introduce a bathing area to a bedroom, we must remember about a few basic issues, such as the room ventilation system. In order for relaxation in the bathtub to remain the long-awaited end of the day, it cannot generate the problem of water vapor accumulating in the bedroom. Therefore, it is worth carefully considering how to remove excess moisture without having to ventilate the room each time. Installation requirements may also turn out to be problematic, especially if the construction or major renovation stage is already behind us. The optimal location of the sewage risers is often the most problematic issue when deciding whether to combine the bedroom with the bath area. It is therefore ideal to plan this type of space already at the stage of building a house or thorough renovation after purchasing an apartment.

Home SPA - take care of the highest level of your comfort

A room where you can indulge in a moment of relaxation in a bathtub or shower and then rest in the bed's bedding, increases the comfort of everyday life to the level of luxury. However, it is worth adjusting them to your lifestyle. If you are a fan of lounging in the water for a long time - opt for a free-standing bathtub that will allow you to feel the maximum dimension of relaxation. If you want an intimate space that allows you to take a quick shower right after getting out of bed, without having to share it with other household members - invest in a functional walk in cabin. Regardless of which option you choose, if you adjust the bathing space to your own needs and ideas, you should love it and you will never want to give it up again.
