Shower enclosure - with or without a shower tray?

Shower enclosure - with or without a shower tray?

If you are planning a bathroom, one of the most important issues is choosing the type of bathing equipment. If we have already decided to choose a shower, it remains to be considered whether we prefer a standard shower enclosure with a shower tray, or a modern Walk-In construction, which gives more arrangement possibilities. Each of these solutions has both advantages and some disadvantages. Which of them is more beneficial for your bathroom?

Times, when in most Polish bathrooms there was a rectangular bathtub, long gone. Currently, more and more often we choose shower enclosures, including modern, minimalist Walk-In constructions, sometimes also without a shower tray. You may be wondering if this solution is beneficial. The answer to this question is not obvious, it all depends on the dimensions and shapes of the bathroom, as well as the assembly options. When installing a Walk-In shower enclosure, it is necessary to make a new spout at the place of run-off as well as to install a suitable glass. The appearance and location of the shower enclosure depends on the needs and tastes of the household members, which often affects the financial possibilities.

Easy assembly and costs

The Walk-In shower enclosure has fewer components and seems to be a simpler solution. If we decide on a solution without a shower tray, an important installation is the water drainage system. In order for the water to run off properly, the floor in the shower should be properly profiled so that a slight incline is created. It is therefore necessary to first assess its thickness expertly and select the optimal method of installing the outflow.

Keeping the shower clean

An ordinary shower enclosure is more difficult to keep clean than a walk-in construction because it has a larger number of mounting elements. It is harder to get to all corners, so you need to spend more time to clean it. Keeping the Walk-In shower enclosure clean is limited to cleaning the floor, glass sheet and of course the shower set, panel, batteries, etc.

When choosing a shower enclosure system, you should also take into consideration the fact that Walk-In installation is not always possible. Sometimes housing conditions do not allow it. After making an initial analysis of the costs related to the use of both systems and the installation options in a given bathroom, it remains only to consider what shower fits our interior design and which is seems to be more comfortable for all household members.
