The arrangement of a small bathroom with bathtub and/or shower enclosure

Usually bathrooms with a small area are in a block of flats. It might seem that the small area of this bathroom is the nightmare of the owners of such apartments. However, thanks to a properly prepared arrangement design, we can use the most of the space of any bathroom, so that it is not only functional, but also classy. In this article, we are going to show you how to arrange a small bathroom with a bathtub or shower enclosure to be able to fully enjoy the comfort of use.

Basic principles of arranging a small bathroom

Decorating a small interior is governed by its own rules. Therefore, in a small bathroom, each of our choice is extremely important. The shape of the shower enclosure and the washbasin that we decide on is great importance here. The taken decisions affect the subsequent functionality of the room and the using comfort. Incorrectly selected equipment can take up too much space, and this in turn affect and even does not allowed to make everyday bathroom rituals. However, before we proceed to the sanitary elements selection, let's start by choosing the right colours for the interior.

Arranging the interior of a bathroom with a small area, we should care about the optical enlargement of the room which can be obtained using the appropriate colours. The colours of nature, such as wood, light shades of gray or beige work good, as well as white, which should be the dominant colour in small bathrooms. We should opt for large, white or gray tiles and furniture in natural wood colour. This combination of colours makes the interior optically larger. A similar effect can be obtained by using a large mirror, glass elements and transparent or translucent materials in the bathroom.

If we are faced with the dilemma of choosing a shower enclosure or bathtub, in such a small space the first option definitely works better. Of course, this does not mean that lovers of long bathing have to say goodbye to the bathtub - we are going to tell you about this later in the article. Returning to the shower enclosure... The optimal version of the shower enclosure is 80x80 cm, but the 90x90 cm model provides larger comfort of use. By choosing a pentagonal or half-round shower enclosure, we are able to save even more valuable space.

We have prepared two arrangements of bathrooms with an area of 3m2 and 5m2, which, we hope, can be an inspiration for owners of small apartments.

Bathroom with an area of 3m2

Despite the fact that we only have 3m2 at our disposal, thanks to the appropriate location of the equipment, there is a place for a washing machine, which is cleverly integrated right next to the bathroom cabinets. Of course, the presented arrangement is dominated by bright colours. The whiteness of furniture and tiles is conneted with wooden elements: a wooden top, shelves in the niche, as well as a wall in contact with the shower. The bathroom includes the KP4/TX5 shower enclosure with a half-round shape, which allows for comfortable use and also leaves a lot of space around it. The shower enclosure is completed with a white 90x90 B-M/Space shower tray. In our bathroom arrangement the washbasin could not be missing, which is necessary for everyday care.

We decided on the Unb-M/Free 50x40x8 washbasin, which has a classic and delicate design. In such a small bathroom, we could not forget about the large mirror, which due to the reflection of objects, makes the room larger than it really is.

Bathroom with an area of 5m2

If bigger bathroom we have, the arrangement possibilities are more attractive. Although the above arrangement used a model of the shower tray of the same series and the identical washbasin, which we present in a 3m2 bathroom, this space looks quite different. Larger area and shape of the room allowed placing WP/Free 70x140 rectangular bathtub. So it turns out that in such a small interior can be both a bathtub and a shower enclosure. This undoubtedly affects the functionality of the bathroom and the comfort of its use. In this case, we can see that the shower is hidden in the nishe, so it required the use of a different type of shower enclosure. We decided on the DJ/TX5 shower wing doors. In a larger bathroom, we can better notice the contrast between light walls and wooden elements, because in this case the colour of the wood is much darker - it is worth emphasizing that the bathroom arranged in this way looks very stylish.

Even the smallest space can be arranged in such a way that its use is convenient and comfortable. The right choice of colours and type of equipment can do real miracles, and a small bathroom can be transformed into a room where we can happily spend time during a long showering or bathing.
